Vintage buildings can make the best backgrounds and environments within which to do a photo shoot. But, photographers find it difficult to obtain access to old buildings. Usually, the owner doesn't want to grant access for fear of liability issues. It's understandable in our litigious society. As a result most of my pictures that have a beautiful, vintage building included are composite images. I photograph the subject on a gray seamless paper background in my studio and then composite that image into another image that I licensed from a stock image company. The background image is called a "backplate". Some photographers shoot their own backplates but I don't. This image of Rochelle was done as a composite.
