Compliments to Dove for their new commercial. It tells such a true story. (see the link below to see their commercial).

 
I see this effect in most of my photo shoots. Many people have a distorted view of themselves that those around them cannot see. They can tell you a list of things that they do not like about their bodies and faces. And they will find it difficult to give you an equal listing of the things that they do like about themselves. We focus on the negative that we find in ourselves and almost ignore the positive.
 
I love the moment when the woman I photographed first sees her images, and cries at the beauty she has found. I often hear "I look beautiful. It doesn't look like me". But it does. They just can't see it. Everyone else can see it.
