I am pleased to announce that, on September 3, 2013, another image has been published in Vogue.Italia.  This image was created the week before with Kimberly Gambucci in my studio.  Thank you, Kimberly, for helping create art!

It can be a little disconcerting to think about doing a boudoir photo shoot, much less a Couture Glamour shoot. You don't know the photographer, what it's going to be like at the studio, will it be embarrassing, will you be able to feel comfortable, feel safe, and will you end up looking ugly rather than beautiful?  You start to think that you would like to do it, but only after you take off that extra 5 pounds or get that tan.

So many questions run through your mind. This video was created to answer those questions.

A little symbolism here.

In the time I have been photographing ballet dancers, I have learned how the professional dancers continue to practice and dance even with severe injuries. And how they are expected to perform with a smile on their faces and never show the pain. It's a behavior that you would expect to see from pro football players, not ballerinas. The industry joke is that if ballet was any easier, they would call it football. One thing I have noticed, though, is that pro football players, if they are really injured, are pulled and don't continue to play. I guess the difference is, in reality, that the pro ball player is a multi-million dollar investment by the team owners. So it comes down to a business decision about protecting your investment. I've not heard of a ballet dancer with a multi-million dollar contract over the next three years. If they were, I'm sure things would be different in the ballet industry. That's sad. It does leave me with a lump in my throat when I see the horrendous amount of time spent practicing, the dedication, self-discipline and deep passion exhibited by ballet dancers, all for the sake of creating the beautiful artistry that we so enjoy. I used to think that maybe the hardest job in the world would be to dig ditches by hand. Now I think it's the job of being a dancer.

An excellent thought:

Get off the scale! I have yet to see a scale that can tell you how enchanting your eyes are. I have yet to see a scale that can thank you for your compassion, sense of humor, and contagious smile. Get off the scale because I have yet to see one that can admire you for your perseverance when challenged in life.

CASTING CALL for females with freckles.

I am looking for females with LOTS of freckles for a photo shoot project. The purpose of the project is to create images for my professional portfolio and self-promotion. The images will primarily be head and shoulder shots, created as beauty images.

To participate you do NOT have to be a model, but you do need to meet the following requirements: 
* Female 
* Minimum of 18 years old 
* Have freckles (the more the better) 
* Sign a model release contract 
* Be available on a weekday for the photo shoot.

In exchange for your participation, you will receive 4 retouched, high resolution digital images from the shoot.

The shoot will be done on a weekday (no weekends) and take a couple of hours to complete.

My studio is located in Surprise, AZ (West Valley), close to Loop 303 and Bell Road.
