HIdden Away in the Bedroom - Ron Brewer Images
If you have ever had a photographer take traditional glamour shots or boudoir shots of you, the odds are they are hidden away in your bedroom. And that's OK, because most of those images are created only for the woman being photographed or to share with a special someone.
Couture Glamour images can be displayed anywhere. To anyone. They can hang on the a wall in the family room or be shown to all your friends on your smart phone or be posted on Facebook without any blushing involved.
Couture Glamour images are usually about wearing MORE clothing. Clothing that has a special flare to it. It mixes the best of traditional glamour, modern boudoir, fashion and beauty photography all into one image.
A FREE Couture Glamour Photo Shoot

Couture Glamour by Ron Brewer Images
So just what is Couture Glamour?
It's not the traditional glamour shot. And it's not the traditional boudoir shot. Glamour shots usually have less clothing while boudoir will have even less clothing than Glamour. But the new Couture Glamour (or sometimes called Modern Glamour or Contemporary Glamour) is actually about wearing MORE clothing. Sometimes a lot of clothing. It's about wearing gorgeous clothing that you wouldn't usually wear. It might even be clothing that you don't have in your own closet. It might have a Victorian flare or be flowing with tulle. But the bottom line is that you will look glamourous and beautiful. Couture Glamour is about using clothes and posing to create amazing images of you that bring out your positives and hide your negatives.
Ballerina Casting Call from Ron Brewer Images
CASTING CALL
I am looking for two female ballerinas for a studio photo shoot. The shoot will be done on a weekday (no weekends). Pointe shoes and various tutu's required.
In exchange for your time/talent, you will receive 4 retouched, high resolution digital images from the shoot for your self-promotional use.

Ron Brewer Images has a workshop that shows you how use all those buttons and dials to fine-tune your pictures and to capture with your camera what you see with your mind's eye. And most important, you will learn how to move from Automatic mode to Manual Exposure mode.
The workshop is called DSLR Camera Photography (Introduction to Photography).
And you don't have to wait to get started. It's offered THIS SATURDAY, June 8, from 9am to 1pm at my studio (located at 17571 W. Rimrock St., Surprise, AZ 85388).
The regular workshop fee is $79.

A Portrait Portfolio of Dancer Scott Bodily
I recently had the opportunity to photograph Scott Bodily in my studio. Scott is a professional dancer located in the Phoenix, AZ, area. He is currently dancing with the Center Dance Ensemble of the Herberger Theater Center, assists with the Arizona Youth Ballet, and is teaching in several dance studios.
Scott grew up on a Utah dairy farm. As the story goes, you could often find him serenading the cattle and choreographing around the farm machinery. From those early beginnings, Scott went on to earn his Master of Fine Arts degree in Dance and has performed professional ballet and modern dance with many dance companies across the country.
His professionalism and passion for dance was evident throughout our photo shoot. Arizona is fortunate to have a talent like Scott bringing us highly skilled entertainment in the arts.
Stripes!
STRIPES! We went for stripes and ended up creating the Stripes Series of fashion shots. I found this dress and hat in a store front window and immediately knew that it would work with Andrea. Sent her a phone camera shot and we decided on the spot to do a set with it.
Andrea caught the concept and worked it throughout, as she always does in every shoot. She gives it her all every time.

I am proud to announce that one of the images created by Andrea Lasley and myself has been published in Vogue.Italia, the online Italian version of Vogue magazine (May 2013).
This image is part of a project that we recently did using good old fashioned flour against a black seamless background in the studio for a fine art look. It was a fun project, but seeing it in Vogue was quite special.
Thank you to Andrea Lasley for an excellent job modeling and collaborating in the creation of this image. Below are some other images created from that same project. As you scroll through them, you will see that she was covered by more and more flour, to the point that it was even in her eyelashes! If she had sneezed, flour would have gone everywhere! What is Beauty All About, Anyway? | Ron Brewer Images
As a photographer that specializes in making women look beautiful in images, you would think that I might be offended by this DOVE commercial. But I'm not. I fully support it!
The commercial is aimed, in part, to photographers and retouchers (which I do both). It carries a strong message to all of us about a woman's beauty. Beauty is not about body shape, body size, or age.
I use posing, special lighting techniques, and Photoshop to make women look their very best. I make them look beautiful. And I do use a few Photoshop Actions to help me accomplish that (the commercial explains what a Photoshop Action is). But normally I find women have a long list of things about their bodies that they don't like. And that list is much longer than what they do like about their bodies. It's not unusual that a woman won't care for a fantastic image of herself because she thinks her nose is too big, or something else about herself is ugly. But no one else can see that "flaw". It exists only in her own mind. Maybe because some kid teased her about her nose back in grade school or someone made a comment one time. Or she just came up with it on her own when viewing the beautiful women in magazine ads for beauty products (who, by the way, don't look that way in real life). And she's never forgotten it. She has come to own it. And now it is a part of how she identifies herself. Reality no longer has a part in her perception. I see it in almost every photo shoot that I do. It's time for a change in the way we think.
